Story Bleed Magazine accepts unpublished and previously published original work:
nonfiction, fiction, poetry, art, and photography.
All submissions for our Print edition are considered for our Online edition, as well. We will contact you for alternative publication permission if your work is selected for Online.
Please do not simultaneously submit the same piece for both Online and Print; we consider all submissions for both platforms, select according to the best venue for each piece, but take notice of your preference.
Please note: due to time constraints, incomplete submissions will be disregarded. Please be thorough.
Guidelines for consideration in the PRINT edition of Story Bleed Magazine:
• In your cover letter/biography, please include your full name, email address, plus a link to your blog/ original post and your twitter handle (if applicable). You may include additional notes.
• If your previously published post is coming from a group blog, make sure that you have permission to republish your work outside of that blog.
• If photos in your post are not your own, please link them to their source or note credit, whenever possible.
• Posts are published in full or edited for content (with notice for approval). You retain all copyright.
• Please submit no more than two posts before you receive a response. Submitting multiple posts dilutes our ability to focus on your best work and will delay publication.
• We have yet to set a date for our next print issue, therefore it may be some time before your submission is reviewed. If you have any questions, please contact us at printdirector@storybleed.com.
Print Edition: Non-fiction
Submit your original non-fiction pieces for consideration in our print publication of Story Bleed Magazine. Work can be either original, unpublished memoirs, personal essays, and other creative non-fiction or pieces originally published on a personal blog. Those pieces not chosen for print will be considered for our online version of Story Bleed Magazine.Please refer to the main submission guidelines and be thorough in your submission.
